The Charlotte Rescue Mission Resident Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining the daily operations and safety of our 120-day substance abuse recovery programs at Rebound or Doves Nest. This position is responsible for supervision of the facility tech staff, overseeing resident living quarters, coordinating non-clinical programming, and ensuring that the facility remains a supportive and structured environment for all Core residents. The Resident Coordinator will work closely with the Program Director, counselors, volunteer coordinator, and facility tech team to provide comprehensive support for residents throughout their recovery journey.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervision of Facility Techs:
- Ensure facility tech team is always upholding responsibility of safety of the facility and the residents.
- Provide guidance and training to ensure tech team is providing quality care and support for residents actively involved in a Christian, 12-Step recovery Program for individuals with substance use disorder.
- Resident Oversight:
- Conduct regular checks of resident bedrooms to ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and the absence of contraband.
- Inspect residents’ clothing and personal property for compliance with facility guidelines.
- Serve as the primary non-clinical point of contact for residents, addressing concerns and providing guidance as needed.
- Oversee random drug screening procedures and coordinate scheduling with counselors.
- Ministry Assignments:
- Oversee the housekeeping and other ministry assignments and assign weekly responsibilities to residents based on levels.
- Monitor the completion of ministry assignments and provide feedback or redirection as necessary.
- Ensure that all common areas of the facility are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Orientation and Support:
- Lead orientation sessions for new residents to introduce them to facility rules, schedules, and resources.
- Assist the facility tech team with front desk and dining room coverage as needed.
- Aid in the disbursement of medications to residents, following all relevant protocols.
- Programming Coordination:
- Coordinate non-clinical programming and classes, working closely with CRM Volunteer Coordinator and outside volunteers to schedule and facilitate sessions.
- Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator and counselors to integrate non-clinical activities with overall treatment plans.
- Manage communication with volunteers, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Maintain a safe environment by enforcing facility policies and addressing any violations promptly.
- Participate in regular safety drills and contribute to the development of safety protocols.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Program Director immediately.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Program Director, counselors, and other staff members to ensure a coordinated approach to resident care.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions on program improvement.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.

Knowledge/Skill:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a substance abuse recovery program or related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and supportive demeanor.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff, volunteers, and residents.
- Basic understanding of substance abuse recovery principles and practices.
- Familiarity with safety and compliance standards in residential facilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Ability:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
- Must be able to sit, stand, talk, walk and climb stairs for long periods of time
