Duty Van Driver/Med Tech (Second Shift)

The Duty Van Driver is responsible for transporting residents to designated appointments, and for assisting in day-to-day operations of the Mission as needed. Duty van driver will work under the guidance of the nursing office and Lead Tech. Must be able to work with other departments within CRM as well as volunteers and outside agencies. Must be able to maintain healthy boundaries when working with residents and staff. Must be a self-starter and team player, and able to work in a recovery environment with residents.

Hours are 3pm-11pm Monday-Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate appointments with designated staff person(s)
      Maintain driver’s book.
      Transport prescriptions as requested and/or drop off prescriptions to hospitals and clinics following prescribed policies and procedures related to the handling of medications.
      Advise supervisor of any problems with van.
      Transport residents to and from appointments.
      Responsible for filling van with gas.
      Complete all record keeping as required in a timely manner.
      Always maintain safe driving habits.
      Adhere to all state/federal confidentiality laws and agency policies.
      Responsible for keeping van clean and in safe driving condition.
      Provide transportation for Mission-sponsored holiday meals on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
      Transport residents to meetings
      Pick up donated medications
      Keep track of donated medications in ZOHO data base.
      The above duties and responsibilities reflect normal duties assigned to the first shift driver.  However, drivers are required to be cross-trained for all duty-driver responsibilities on all shifts and are to be available for monitoring of the facility when not driving.
      Provide medication call for 4 pm and 9 pm meds.
      Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred

Skill:

Appropriate verbal and written communication skills Microsoft  

Windows work environment and Microsoft Office helpful

Ability:

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Must be able to sit, stand, and climb stairs.

The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Spend most of the time in medication room and must able to lift 50 lbs.
