Nurse

The Nurse oversees the activities, personnel, and resources of the nursing office at Rebound.  He/she works within the nursing process and uses a plan of care as an RN to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the residents as they work toward recovery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure that policies and procedures of CRM are followed by the staff in the nursing office.
    • Manage administrative responsibilities and scheduling of monthly clinic with volunteer PA students.
    • Collect health data from residents.
    • Screen/assess all new residents.
    • Collect information on medications prescribed to residents.
    • Collect data as needed from physicians, dentists, clinics, or other providers.
    • Identify resident healthcare problems and assist resident in determining priorities related to health and recovery.
    • Adhere to admission’s protocol guidelines developed by the Admissions Director; collaborate with Admissions Director regarding and prior to all final program refusals.
    • Educate and establish self-care plan/goals with resident and for after-care following completion of program; work closely with counselors to ensure resident is following health care plan.
    • Document resident care services by charting in KIPU.
    • Attending and contributing to Rebound Staff meetings.
    • Oversee/supervise lead facility technician.
    • Build a professional rapport and maintain a cooperative relationship among health care providers by communicating information.
    • Facilitate an educational class, frequency to be determined.
    • Meet with counseling staff on rotating basis to discuss resident needs on their case load.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge:

Completion of fully accredited Diploma, associate degree or Bachelor’s degree or higher program in nursing.

Hold a current and unencumbered RN license valid for practice in North Carolina.

At least one year of experience in addictions and/or behavioral health nursing.

Hold current First Aid and CPR certification.

 

Skill:

Appropriate communication, delegation, computer, documentation, organizational and managerial skills.

Must be proficient in all areas of nursing including standards of care and standards of professional performance.

Must be proficient in critical thinking, assessment, and collaboration.

 

Ability:

Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.

Must be able to sit, stand, and climb stairs.
