Recovery Living CaSe Manager
Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Recovery Living Case Manager must be capable of responding professionally and ethically to the needs of residents in their care. Primary functions include:
- Complete Case Management Assessment, Review and evaluate residents’ progress, and maintain accurate records/reports in the program, ensuring all residents are current with program fees and documents in KIPU.
- Communicate with residents in both a group setting (including virtual) and individual one on one sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
- Coordinate with community partners to leverage resources with potential employers and skills training opportunities.
- Support the resident with access to multiple health care resources
- Ensure residents continue to engage in a 12 Step program and sponsorship relations.
- Encourage and support residents to build confidence when handling crisis situations.
- Coordinate with community partners to engage residents in accessing financial management resources
- Manage room assignments, access to rooms, I.T. and maintenance requests.
- Perform periodic and random room checks and drug testing for all recovery living program residents.
- Plan and coordinate all alumni functions, alumni monthly newsletters, and volunteer opportunities for alumni.
- Attend all Team meetings, community meetings, and clinical case conference as requested or required.
- Attend training sessions to increase knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to all agency, state, and federal laws regarding confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and Knowledge:
- High School Diploma or GED with no less than 3 years of experience in case management roles and/or community linkage to resources.
- Knowledge of Substance Use Disorders, Recovery Services, and Aftercare Planning.
- Experience with crisis management and managing life barriers.
Skill:
- Appropriate verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Must be able to respond appropriately to unfolding situations and emergencies
- Experience in planning and executing large-scale alumni events
- Charting in health information record system (KIPU) within required time frames
- Ensure residents continue to engage in a 12 Step program and sponsorship relations
Ability:
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time while engaged in counseling and supervisory sessions
- Must be able to climb stairs and lift a minimum of 30 pounds
- Able to relate effectively to volunteers and other staff in carrying out applicable activities

Primary Counselor
Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Primary Counselor facilitates the 12 Core Functions of Substance Abuse Counseling with an assigned group of residents in the 120 day substance abuse recovery program. The scope of practice for the Primary Counselor is determined by the credentialing board to which she/he is accountable.
Terms of clinical supervision will be determined as appropriate within the definitions of the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board or other appropriate credentialing body. Agency policy requires that the Primary Counselor receive one hour of clinical supervision per forty hours of work with an assigned Certified Clinical Supervisor within the agency. There will be no exceptions to this policy, regardless of licensure or certification level.
The Primary Counselor is expected to adhere to the specific code of ethics accompanying his or her certification and/or licensure, as well as to all agency policies.
- Carries out the twelve core functions as needed with assigned residents. While some functions may be assigned to other departments within the program, the Primary Counselor must be able to perform the following functions:
- Complete and maintain accurate records or reports regarding the resident’s history and progress, services provided, or other required information.
- Counsel residents in both a group and one on one setting.
- Develop resident treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and resident history.
- Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals or other health professionals, such as doctors, nurses, or social workers.
- Act as liaisons between resident and medical staff.
- Provide residents with information about addiction issues and about available services or programs, make referrals when necessary.
- Review and evaluate resident’s progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment plan.
- Modify treatment plans to comply with changes in resident status.
- Plan or implement follow-up or aftercare programs for residents to be discharged from program.
- Coordinate activities with courts, probation officers, community services, or other post-treatment agencies.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

- INTAKE: the administrative and initial assessment procedures for admission to a program
- ORIENTATION: describing to the resident the following: general nature and goals of the program; rules governing resident conduct and infractions that can lead to disciplinary action or discharge from the program; the hours during which services are available; treatment costs to be borne by the resident, if any; and resident rights
- ASSESSMENT: the procedures by which a counselor/program identifies and evaluates an individual’s strengths, weaknesses, problems, and needs for the development of a treatment plan
- TREATMENT PLANNING: the process by which the counselor and the resident identify and rank problems needing resolution; establish agreed upon immediate and long-term goals; and decide upon a treatment process and the resources to be utilized
- COUNSELING: (Individual, Group, and Significant Others): the utilization of special skills to assist individuals, families, or groups in achieving objectives through exploration of a problem and its ramifications; examination of attitudes and feelings; consideration of alternative solutions; and decision-making
- CASE MANAGEMENT: activities which bring services, agencies, resources, or people together within a planned framework of action toward the achievement of established goals, which may involve liaison activities and collateral contacts
- CRISIS INTERVENTION: those services which respond to an alcohol and/or other drug abuser’s needs during acute emotional and/or physical distress
- RESIDENT EDUCATION: provision of information to individuals and groups concerning alcohol and other drug abuse, and the available services and resources
- REFERRAL: identifying the needs of a resident that cannot be met by the counselor or agency and assisting the resident to utilize the support systems and community resources available
- REPORT AND RECORD KEEPING: charting the results of the assessment and treatment plan; writing reports, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other resident-related data
- CONSULTATION WITH OTHER PROFESSIONALS IN REGARD TO RESIDENT TREATMENT/SERVICES: relating with in-house staff or outside professionals to assure comprehensive, quality care for the resident

Dove’s Nest Women’s Program Facilities Tech (PRN)
Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and document facility activity, room checks, boutique entry, significant events during shift, etc.
- Perform resident room rounds every 1-2 hours
- Provide transportation when scheduled and when directed by supervisor, maintaining gas receipts and reporting vehicle issues as needed.
- Monitor security cameras to assure resident safety; respond to the entry calls when needed
- Review and monitor resident passes for leaving and returning to the facility
- Complete resident personal items check, complete urine test or alcohol breathalyzer as directed or if reasonable cause
- Perform and document monthly room checks as assigned
- Train and become proficient at medication administration under the direction of nursing staff in order to fill in as needed.
- Complete general clerical duties which include but are not limited to filing, copying, posting, messages
- Maintain resident supplies and assist with distribution
- Keep order and cleanliness in the Tech Office and Staff Work Room
- Conduct morning checks of morning meditation, evening wrap up, or Saturday morning huddle depending on shift.
- Document events of shift into “shift notes”
- Give accountment of shift to the oncoming Facility Technician
- Other duties as assigned

Community Matters Café Server
Summary
The Server assists guests of the Community Matters Café Coffee Shop and Dining Room. The Server works closely with the Front of House, Server Trainer, and Coffee Shop Managers. The Server will also assist directly with the day to day operations of Student Residents, guest interaction, and service activities. Excellent communication skills are a must and the ability to work in a faith-based residential recovery environment. Must be a self-starter, able to multi-task, a team player willing to work with various departments and the community, to achieve overall goals of the Student Resident.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare room for dining by setting dining room and ensuring cleanliness of all Front of House areas.
- Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies
- Assist patrons with selecting food and beverages by presenting menu, suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s specialties, and answering any food preparation questions
- Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
- Transmit orders to coffee bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices, identifying patrons’ special dietary needs or special requests
- Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
- Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from coffee bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars
- Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs, observing dining process
- Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, being alert to patron spills, or other special needs
- Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting patrons to return
- Obtain revenues by totaling charges, issuing bill, accepting payment, delivering bill and payment to host; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Provide welcoming phone greeting and following Guest ordering procedures
- Convey menu information over the phone to Guests and give accurate estimate of delivery time
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
- Fill in for absent staff as needed, assist with special events as needed, adhere to appropriate grooming and appearance
