Administration

Accounting Specialist (PT)

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for processing accounts payable paperwork, assisting with the monthly close, and other tasks as assigned by the Controller and/or Director of Finance. This position will act as the backup in instances where the Senior Accounting Specialist is unavailable. This is a 20 hour per week part-time position.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Review and process reimbursement requests, invoices, purchase receipts, credit card statements, and all related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily check deposits through Desktop Deposit scanning.
  • Assist with month end closing procedures, including bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized payable and contract files, both electronic and physical records.

 

Qualifications

 

Experience:            Two years’ work experience in accounting or data entry.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency with desktop PC applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, internet).
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting software and standard bookkeeping practices.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Abilities:

  • Must be able to lift minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for lengthy periods, and climb stairs.

Development

Donor Relations Assistant

The Donor Relations Associate provides support for the Office of Donor Relations and Communications. This position is part-time, M-F 8:30-12:30.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Open all CRM mail each morning and prepare batches to be scanned.
  2. Shared responsibility for data entry of batches and constituent records in Raiser’s Edge.
  3. Work with Donor Relations team to generate thank you letters and receipts in a timely manner.
  4. Work with Donor Relations and Communications team to steward donors (tele-thank you program, new donor bonding, donor retention, honor and memorial gifts, etc.).
  5. Maintain office supplies and stationary items for Development Department and place orders, as needed.  Responsible for keeping the Development office organized and stocked with materials.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to our donors.
  7. Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or GED

Dove’s Nest Women’s Program

Children’s Program Coordinator

This position will work in the Charlotte Rescue Mission‘s Dove’s Nest Children’s Program Services providing comprehensive assessment, support, programming and intervention to the children in the Dove’s Nest children’s program, ages 3-11, who have been affected by substance abuse. Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion. Must be a self-starter and be able to multi-task. A team player that is willing to work with various departments to achieve overall goals of the mission. Have good relational skills and work well in a recovery environment with residents.

 

In addition, this position will provide education and support to the maternal parent in order to educate the mother on the impact of substance abuse on their child as well as promote safety and positive parenting within the mother-child relationship. This position will provide psycho educational as well as intervention services to support children with a variety of effects of substance abuse including domestic violence, depression, behavioral disturbance, anxiety or negative self-concept. Particular emphasis will be made to engage community partners that target this specific population, including but not limited to childcare facilities, child advocacy centers, department of social services, as well as the faith community.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assures the safety of the facility and the residents and that the Program Structure Guidelines are being maintained
Perform clinical duties within the 12 Core Functions of Counseling
Creates program procedures, curriculum and program schedules
Conduct resident education and instruction
Works with the volunteer coordinator to insure groups/individuals are properly screened, educated, and scheduled
Coordinates with “A Child’s Place” for child’s educational needs
Communicates written observations and concerns regarding residing children to appropriate staff members
Networking and referrals to community resources
Other duties as assigned by Program Director

 

Qualifications:

Masters in Social Work or related field required.
This applicant will need a strong understanding of chemical dependency as well as knowledge of child development and evidenced based interventions in working with childhood related concerns.

Must possess the ability to set and maintain healthy interpersonal boundaries
Must possess flexibility
Proficient in Microsoft Windows work environment, Microsoft Office, Excel and be able to use Quic Doc for reports and record keeping

 

Ability:

Desire to grow professionally and to achieve advanced level of counselor development and skill
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Able to sit and stand for long periods, walk, and use stairs
