At the age of 10, Grace Daniels, an avid swimmer, was presented an opportunity to help those in need. For every personal best swim time, Grace was given a small monetary reward from her parents. Instead of spending it on herself, she decided to take her earnings from swimming and donate them to the Charlotte Rescue Mission.
Laps for Love was established in 2015 by then 10-year-old Grace Daniels and is now managed by a board made up entirely of Charlotte youth. She felt that her goal for Laps for Love aligned perfectly with Charlotte Rescue Mission and established a partnership for fundraisers. In two years, Laps for Love has donated $36,965 to further Charlotte Rescue Mission’s success in transforming lives in the Charlotte community.
This year Laps for Love hopes to collect $40,000 through its swim-a-thon and Race the Rev competition. We hope to see you there!
