Our supply of men’s shower shoes / flip flops is running extremely low.  Our men need these flip flops for the showers to prevent the spread of bacteria.  Please consider hosting a drive to collect men’s shower shoes for us – we would greatly appreciate it!

Monthly Giving

As you know, like any other business, we incur monthly operational expenses as we work to change lives in the Charlotte area. Would you consider joining our “Friends of the Friendless” giving club with your decision to support monthly or quarterly?

Friends of the Friendless is a circle of friends who are committed to supporting the mission year round. This level of partnership is essential to our clients. The battle of homelessness and addiction is an ongoing one and without the faithful support of friends like you, we would be unable to provide the level of service that we do now.

How your partnership changes lives….

“These dedicated counselors and this God driven program of recovery have helped me change my life. Today I live a sober life, am employed (yes a tax-payer!), and feel that I have a purpose in this world for the first time. It amazes me that a complete stranger would care enough to give to the mission.”

As a member of the Friends of the Friendless, you will receive a pledge reminder and a Newsletter. Our goal is to make donating as simple as possible for you. This process also helps us by saving time and expenses which ensures that your gifts are being used more efficiently.

Why I Support Friends of the Friendless

By Trent Knight

I heard about Charlotte Rescue Mission through friends. I was attracted to it because of its Christian theme. The fact that people who are in trouble can receive help to reconstruct their lives was very appealing to me.

When I came to Charlotte about 10 years ago I saw people sleeping on the street for the first time. It was very troubling and I wondered how I could help. It struck me to see people in that predicament. I felt blessed but at the same time guilty for not doing something to help these people whom life had dealt such a hard blow.

When I learned about Charlotte Rescue Mission, I knew this was a program I could get involved with and help. Through Friends of the Friendless, I give on a regular basis and I know my gifts have a real impact on people’s lives.

Charlotte Rescue Mission hosts a ‘Talk & Tour’ twice a month. This event gives our donors a chance to take a tour of our facilities, meet the staff and learn about volunteer opportunities.  They last about an hour and begin promptly at 12 or 5pm.

Talk & Tour also doubles as our “volunteer orientation” which is required for anyone who wants to volunteer at the mission.

Talk & Tour is a great way for donors to see how their money is being used at the mission and will give those interested in volunteering a chance to learn about volunteer opportunities.

If you are interested in visiting the mission please call Andria Tindall at 704-334-4635 x214 or you may email her at andria.tinadall@charlotterescuemission.org.
