Monthly Giving

As you know, like any other business, we incur monthly operational expenses as we work to change lives in the Charlotte area. Would you consider joining our “Friends of the Friendless” giving club with your decision to support monthly or quarterly?

Friends of the Friendless is a circle of friends who are committed to supporting the mission year round. This level of partnership is essential to our clients. The battle of homelessness and addiction is an ongoing one and without the faithful support of friends like you, we would be unable to provide the level of service that we do now.

How your partnership changes lives….

“These dedicated counselors and this God driven program of recovery have helped me change my life. Today I live a sober life, am employed (yes a tax-payer!), and feel that I have a purpose in this world for the first time. It amazes me that a complete stranger would care enough to give to the mission.”

As a member of the Friends of the Friendless, you will receive a pledge reminder and a Newsletter. Our goal is to make donating as simple as possible for you. This process also helps us by saving time and expenses which ensures that your gifts are being used more efficiently.

Click here to sign up for Friends of the Friendless online.

Why I Support Friends of the Friendless

By Trent Knight

I heard about Charlotte Rescue Mission through friends. I was attracted to it because of its Christian theme. The fact that people who are in trouble can receive help to reconstruct their lives was very appealing to me.

When I came to Charlotte about 10 years ago I saw people sleeping on the street for the first time. It was very troubling and I wondered how I could help. It struck me to see people in that predicament. I felt blessed but at the same time guilty for not doing something to help these people whom life had dealt such a hard blow.

When I learned about Charlotte Rescue Mission, I knew this was a program I could get involved with and help. Through Friends of the Friendless, I give on a regular basis and I know my gifts have a real impact on people’s lives.

Have you considered the mission in your will?

Planned giving allows you to help Charlotte Rescue Mission now and in the future. Multiple options are available for many different situations. For specific information, we suggest you talk to you financial and tax advisors.

Planned giving can help you achieve some or all of the benefits below:

Reduce your income taxes

Avoid capital-gain tax

Increase your spendable income

Retain payments for life

Achieve no-cost, worry-free asset management

Types of giving include:

Gifts of Assets

The simplest way to support Charlotte Rescue Mission is through cash gifts. But creative gifts of assets can include stocks, bonds, and property (real estate and personal property such as artwork). These not only may provide you with charitable deductions, but often offer additional tax savings.

Gifts by Will

Through various types of bequests for Charlotte Rescue Mission, you may secure a charitable estate-tax deduction for the value of the gift. Best of all, you will know that your generosity will support recovery efforts at Charlotte Rescue Mission for years to come.

Gifts That Pay You Income

Do you want to support Charlotte Rescue Mission, but worry about having enough income for yourself and your loved ones? Life-income gifts, such as gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and pooled income funds, can provide donors with an income stream, significant tax savings, and the satisfaction of supplying Charlotte Rescue Mission with important long-term resources.

Gifts of Retirement-Plan Benefits

You may consider using retirement-plan benefits to make a significant gift that will support Charlotte Rescue Mission. Because of the estate- and income-tax treatment of retirement-plan benefits, the cost of your gift to your estate and heirs is often relatively small.

For more information on Planned Giving, call Sue Rounds at 704-334-4635 x 224 or EJ Underwood, Director of Development at 704-334-4635 ext 204.
