I would like to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to restore my pride and dignity. I was so distorted in my way of thinking that I wanted to die, had given up on everything, and then something led me to the rescue mission. This was my last chance to straighten out my life. I had to start my recovery with step one and that was to face what my addiction was doing to me. I realized how many bridges I had burned and also how to forgive myself. I fully realized how far I had fallen. The rescue mission showed me to put my faith in the hands of the lord. I also learned to live in his grace and accept the pain, but also realize I was not alone. I learned to accept myself and my mistakes knowing I want to do better. I had to take the help people here were willing to give me. From their hearts, I learned how to appreciate kindness and also how to give it. I had to realize that no one owes me anything, I owe it to myself. I learned to admit the wrong I’ve done with sincerity and be prepared if someone I hurt is not willing to accept my apology.
I would like to thank everyone associated with this program they have my deepest appreciation. I know that it can only get better for me and it is because of the rescue mission. I do not really have the words to express my gratitude but everyone here will forever be in my prayers. Once I faced the reality of the situation God put you in my path. Then I was shown how to survive without drugs and alcohol. Finally I was taught that with God anything is possible. I’m a living example of this. All you have to do is have a religious base and allow yourself to go from there.
Thanks for everything
