Changing lives since 1938

*Update* Thanks to such a generous response, we have already filled this need.  We are incredibly grateful for so many in the community who are willing to help.

We’re planning a mother’s day picnic for the women in the Dove’s Nest program and we’re looking for a sponsor.  The Charlotte Observer covers the story:

There are 12 women in the Dove’s Nest program, and half of them have underage children they probably won’t be seeing on Mother’s Day. In many cases, their children are being raised by other family members or are in the care of the social services system, officials said. Read the rest of this entry »

This is a note from a current Rebound client:

I arrived at Rebound a week before Christmas. I was still in holdover (pre-program) on Christmas day when Rebound invited the homeless of the community to enjoy meals and holiday festivities. It was at that point that I realized how grateful I was that God had given me enough desperation to make the call to Rebound just a week before. Read the rest of this entry »

The miracle of the Mission is the lives that are changed. It’s about the woman who stopped going back to destructive relationships and learned to say “No” to them. It’s about the man who shed tears as he learned that in spite of all he did, that God loved him unconditionally.  Thanks to our supporters who make this miracle possible.

Our 2010 annual ‘Hope Totes’ campaign was a tremendous success!  Every year we collect toiletries in the Spring to distribute to the needy throughout the year.  This year, we collected 484 bags and over 10,000 individual toiletry items!  Thanks to Andria Tindall for coordinating this and to all the volunteers who made it possible.

WSOC has the story of how about 300 volunteers helped Charlotte Rescue Mission serve over 1,200 meals on Easter Sunday. Thanks to all of our volunteers for making this day possible.

I think that the Rebound Program at Charlotte Rescue Mission is an awesome program. I see so many clients coming into the program and by the time they graduate they are a changed person. I believe that faith in Jesus Christ is a main source of producing this change through their involvement in the program. Read the rest of this entry »
