CHARLOTTE — A 2008 study by the Charlotte Rescue Mission found that there were more than 1,000 women living in Charlotte-area shelters with substance abuse problems. And those numbers are only expected to rise.

With the increase in need, the Dove’s Nest in Dilworth is in the middle of a $10 million fund-raising campaign to transform the 12-bed house to a 90-bed facility.  See the story and watch the video.
